Osteopathy

Osteopaths are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. Our practitioners work with the structure and function of the body, based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopaths treat many conditions, including:

  • General stiffness
  • Sports injuries
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Neck, shoulder and back pain
  • Work strain
  • Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
  • Muscle strain and injury
  • Arthritis
  • Posture-related problems (eg: driving and work)
  • Trapped nerve
  • Sciatica
  • Post Operative rehab
  • Ligament strain and injury
  • Nervous system imbalances
  • Pregnancy massage
  • Manual lymphatic massage

What to expect at your consultation

The initial consultation lasts approximately 30-45 minutes, during which a medical history is taken along with a thorough osteopathic examination. Patients  are asked to undress to their underwear in order to be assessed, diagnosed and treated.

Follow-up treatment will last approximately 20-30 minutes when the osteopath will treat you using a number of differing treatments including stretching, massage and manipulation.

The clinic is registered with most private health insurance companies including AXA/PPP. Please check with your insurance provider, as each individual policy may vary. Some insurance companies may require you to have a GP referral.

Discounts are offered to NHS staff and over 65’s.
